Lucky C200 Color Negative Film

The Return of a Classic Chinese Color Film

Lucky C200 35mm color negative film

About Lucky C200

Lucky C200 is an ISO 200, daylight-balanced, 35mm color negative film designed for everyday photography. Each roll provides 36 exposures and can be developed using the widely available C-41 color negative process.

With its classic film character, distinctive color rendering, and visible analog texture, Lucky C200 is suitable for travel, street photography, portraits, landscapes, daily snapshots, and creative film projects. Its ISO 200 sensitivity performs best outdoors or in bright, well-lit environments.

A Classic Returns in 2025

Lucky was once one of China’s best-known photographic film manufacturers. Following the rapid growth of digital photography and changes in the traditional film market, the company suspended production of color photographic film in 2012.

After a 13-year absence, Lucky officially relaunched its color film on July 17, 2025, at the 26th China Shanghai International Photographic Equipment and Digital Imaging Exhibition. The newly produced Lucky C200 continued the recognizable red-and-white packaging of the classic product.

According to the manufacturer, the new film was developed following approximately 18 months of joint technical research. The renewed production introduced domestically sourced chemical materials together with developments in coating and environmentally responsible processing technology.

Image Characteristics

Lucky C200 offers the distinctive appearance of traditional color negative film. Its ISO 200 speed provides a practical balance between image detail and visible film grain when used in suitable lighting.

Final color, contrast, grain, and sharpness may vary according to exposure, lighting, lens, development chemistry, scanner, scanning software, and laboratory settings. This natural variation is part of the creative appeal of analog photography.
