Powered Travel with a Mechanical Backup

An SEW geared motor drives two rope lines from a common assembly. Dual brakes provide load-holding redundancy, and a hand crank permits controlled recovery when the powered drive is unavailable. The brake-release and manual-drive procedure must be governed by a project-specific risk assessment.

Two-Rope Layout
Common-drive movement for paired suspension points.
Dual Braking
Two holding devices with manual release.
Hand-Crank Recovery
Mechanical movement during power loss.
Compact Gearmotor
Integrated right-angle drive package.

Critical Application Note

A shared drive does not automatically assure equal rope position under unequal loads. Specify the allowable skew, rope path, feedback method and shutdown limits. This standard configuration is for materials handling—not people. Any personnel-carrying use requires a purpose-designed, independently certified system with compliant brakes, controls, rescue provisions and supporting structure.
